Look Up

One of the things about our celestial bodies that has amazed me since I was a child, is that they are seen and recognizable by every human being on Earth. They are part of that unifying force we all share as a species, and nature’s reminder of how easy it is to recognize the best of who and what we are simply by looking up.

  1. I see this entry on the Eve of the Lunar New Year. My daughter tells me in some countries this event triggers workers returning to their families to celebrate for two weeks!

    1. Sharon – thank you for sharing Jacquie’s observation; what a wonderful this to do as part of that celebration!

  2. Frank, you’re so spot on! It’s wild to think that no matter where we are or who we are, we all get to look up and see the same moon. Each phase reminds us of that connection—how, in some way, we’re all tied together under that same sky.

Your words bring a sense of awareness, stirring up both a sense of awe and reflection, like a poetic reminder to embrace the harmony nature offers us.

And that picture, Frank? Wow. Absolutely haunting and beautiful at the same time. Mpotter22@sbcglobal.net

    1. Maria – once again, thank you for your lovely note. I sometimes feel silly talking about something that IMHO is an obvious truth or fact. Yet I’ve come to realize over the years that it’s often the most obvious things that people tend to miss the most. Living an efficient life should never supersede an introspective life; one gives you speed while the gives you wisdom. As always, thank you so much for writing! Oh, and P.S. Thank you for the comments on the picture; it is an amazing shot. But the credit goes to a photographer from Japan who posts regularly on Shutterstock.
