In Memoriam

A quick guide for this Memorial Day:

It is not a day for drinking; it’s a day for thinking.

It’s not a day for selling; it’s a day for teaching and telling.

It’s not a day for chasing a great buy; it’s a day to contemplate the sacrifices of those who died.

It’s not a day for sports or competition; it’s a day to honor those who gave their all for their mission.

It’s not a day to judge or argue more; it’s a day to think of how to end all war.

It’s not about patriotism; it’s about respect and admiration for an unwavering conviction. It’s about recognizing and understanding their last thoughts; the sum total of their lives caught in that final moment of awareness, sadness, love and redemption.

Their last flash of consciousness was on you; on the ones they loved and the stark reality of that final moment.

It’s Memorial Day. Honor and respect the memories of those who gave up their greatest right in order to protect and safeguard yours.

Are your plans for this Memorial Day commensurate to that loss? Are your plans for this Memorial Day a fitting and appropriate memory to that sacrifice?

They gave their all; can you stand to give them just one day?
